LEDUC Street

City of Saint-Laurent

«This street begins opposite what was once the Leduc farm on the north side of boulebard Cà´te-Vertu. The farm had belonged to the family since the 19th century.  Its first owner was Gilbert Leduc, who married Sophie Leduc. In 1866, he gave it to his son Jérà´me, who died in 1892.  It was next owned by Jérà´me’s brother, Joseph.

The Leduc family originally settled in Saint-Laurent in the 18th century.  One Joseph Leduc, a resident of Cà´te Notre-Dame-des-Vertus, appears in the 1731 Sulpician declaration and census..

Family descendants include Napoléon Leduc, Parish Mayor from 1921 to 1924, and Hector Leduc, the last Mayor of the Parish from 1949 to 1954.»
